The Local Essence was born from a simple idea: travellers deserve to experience the Canary Islands as they are truly lived by locals.
Our mission is to redefine the way people explore the islands:
Through premium digital guides and curated itineraries that combine authenticity, style, and a genuine sense of belonging.
We are a team of locals who grew up experiencing the islands beyond the obvious — understanding not only where to go, but how to truly live each place.
Over time, what began as personal recommendations shared among friends evolved into a different way of seeing the islands. The Local Essence is the natural extension of that perspective: a way to bring together everything we know and share it with those seeking something more authentic, more intentional, and more deeply connected to the soul of the Canary Islands.
For many visitors, the Canary Islands have become a collection of resorts and the same viewpoints repeated everywhere. But that’s not the Canary Islands we know — and it’s not the one we want to show.
That’s why, in October 2024, we decided to turn that idea into something real: the first locally made high quality guide that shows travellers how to live the islands through locals’ eyes.
Every recommendation, every route, and every flavour comes from real experience — and from a deep respect for the place we call home.
Because these are not just destinations. They are living, breathing islands — to be enjoyed responsibly, shared respectfully, and remembered deeply.
